20D-2007-10-24 005Yesterday I got phoned by a very excited Lydia who told me she found one of my photos in thelondonpaper! I had submitted a few photos from Saturday’s trip to Borough Market in the hope that they would like one of them - they were by no means my best photos, but featured people doing stuff in London, which is the sort of photo they tend to publish. The original photo is here.

Thelondonpaper has a readership of at least 111,000 which is pretty cool - its one of the free papers that is handed out to commuters in London every week-day evening. You can see other pictures of the day here.

An Afternoon at Richmond Park

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

20D-2007-10-21 295 After the lovely morning at Borough, went with R & M to Richmond Park for a picnic lunch - rather posh as consisted of M&S salad + Flour Station chelsea buns. It was a lovely sunny Autumn afternoon (though chilly) with late afternoon sunshine providing lovely light for autumn leaves and the deer in the park. R’s photos are here, and mine are here.

A Morning at Borough Market

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

20D-2007-10-21 112Got up really early yesterday (6:30am!!) to meet up with a friend at Borough Market. Got to Borough Market at 8am after a nice stroll along the South Bank of the Thames (Lovely crisp Autumn morning with clear blue skies - the Thames was glassy still).

We caught the final stages of the stands being set up then saw the market slowly come alive with people shopping. The visit included a nice bacon and egg sandwich from Maria’s Market Cafe, a triple ristretto from Monmouth Coffee Company, and finished the visit off by sitting down in the gardens of Southwark Cathedral with a mulled cider from the New Forest Cider stall.

Lifts and Turnstiles

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Bill SullivanStumbled across an interesting photographer’s website today (Bill Sullivan, NY, USA). There were two series of potrait photos that were very interesting. The first one I saw was a series of photos taken of people going through a turnstile (see here). The second series was one of people in a lift as the doors are closing (see here). Both seem to get a wide range of different types of people making interesting viewing.
